Dr. Ali Rahimian Esfahani, Founder of Industry of Animal Feed in IRAN

Mr. Ali Rahimian was born in 1922 in the old neighborhood of Shapoor in Tehran. His father was one of famous merchants who had an extensive trade and commercial relation with Russian. His elementary school finished in 1929 and in the summer of that year he registered in Darolfonoon high school which was the best and greatest high school at that time. He spent his education in Darolfonoon and Islam High school, and then by participating in the entrance examine of university, he was accepted in the field of veterinary and graduated from Tehran University.
By the end of his superior education, Mr.Rahimian who has been a doctor now, went to military service for one year (at that time the duration of military service for doctors, veterinarians and dentists was one year). And then he went to get a job in the Ministry of Agriculture; however, he could not be able to get a job and went to Tehran Municipality and took responsibility to organize Slaughterhouse of Tehran. He noted in his diary like this: " they should hired me in the Ministry of Agriculture because this ministry had paid the cost of studying for several students and in return it was supposed the students be hired there after graduation from university, but the Ministry of Agriculture did not have sufficient funds to do it… after several months I took a copy of my thesis and asked an appointment to visit the mayor. In our meeting I showed him my thesis and told him that all of slaughterhouses in Iran are under supervision of Agriculture Ministry, however, Tehran`s abattoirs operated by the Municipality, therefore as an specialist I would like to serve Municipality as well as abattoirs". With this conversation, Dr. Rahimian went to the slaughterhouse of Tehran where was in a very bad situation and succeeded to organize it well and successfully.
After doing such a great work for Tehran abattoir, Dr. Rahimian entered to Feed Industry and had a lot of activities in this field as well and launched several firms with the support of his friends and partners. Among them we can mention these companies: Asil Co, Iran Poultry Co, Corporation of Pars Animal Feed Co, Eshragh Co, Science Laboratories and GRC Co.
Also he was the first veterinarian who received the post of Director General besides veterinary works; furthermore he took responsibility of the Department of Health and Food Control. In addition to extensive activities in Feed Industry, he also entered the Food Industry as well as Vegetable Oil Production Industry and he succeeded to establish several great Vegetable oil complexes such as Ghoo, Pars and Jahan along with other partners. In each of these industrial complexes, not only thousands of workers employed, but also setting each of these complexes up considered as an important development in the country's Food Industry.
Dr. Rahimian`s activities in different fields such as industry, research and science for more than 60 years and in the area of Livestock, Poultry and Aquaculture as well as Animal Feed; also as a person who involved to set up more than a dozen companies directly or indirectly during these years, caused him to be remembered as one of the founders of theses modern industries in Iran.
This great entrepreneur, besides the industrial activities, has taken important steps in the field of charity like building charitable schools and hospitals in Alvand, Qazvin. This hospital, as the only Subspecialty hospital, has hosted more than thousands patients annually, since 1999. Dr. Rahimian and his late wife can be named as influential people in the formation of Kahrizak sanitarium and helping to this center is always one of their priorities.
In addition he had collaboration with his late brother, Mr. Abbas Rahimian Esfahani, for establishing and formation of the Alavi (Refah) school; also they were Board of Trustees of the school before the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
